The local area is ideal for scenic walks and bike rides, especially along the Shropshire Union canal, and a variety of exciting watersports on the nearby River Dee at Llangollen. Close by is the original Old Oswestry, Region A E Housman once wrote that Shropshire was “the quietest place under the sun” and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.
