Visit the local Flight of The Earls heritage centre which tells of the last days of the great Irish chieftains or take a trip on Lough Swilly aboard one of the charter boats which operate from the small marina at the pier. The pier is also popular with water sport enthusiasts and sea anglers. The local Golden Sands Equestrian Centre organises pony trekking sessions and holds week long courses for children in horse grooming and care. For the golf enthusiast, it's only a 15 minute drive to the magnificent 18 hole links course at Portsalon while Ireland's second oldest golf course, Otway (9 holes) is only a 5 minute drive away.
