Area Between the cities of Modbury and Kingsbridge, in the South Hams region of Devon, England, is a village known as St Ann's Chapel. A dependable neighbourhood store and a quaint restaurant, The Pickwick Inn, are both located in this village. Bigbury on Sea, a community with a long, sandy beach (surf school, cafe), which stretches to Burgh Island, is only three miles distant. Both the Pilchard Inn on the island and the South West Coast path are worthwhile stops. A little further out, at the head of the extensively creeked Kingsbridge Estuary (which may be reached by boat), the traditional market town of Kingsbridge is home to a variety of independent stores, cafes, restaurants, art galleries, and antique stores. Region Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed.
