Situated in the heart of Mayo's Lake District this 4 bedroom house is ideally located just 4km from the market town of Ballinrobe, 20 mins to Castlebar, 25 mins to Westport, 50 mins to Galway and 40 mins to the beach. The award winning Ballinrobe Racecourse is just 2km away and Ballinrobe Championship 18 hole Golf course is only a 10 minute drive. The renowned Ashford Castle and The Lodge at Ashford Castle which are located in the beautiful village of Cong are just a 20 minute journey. If you are flying into Knock airport it is less than an hour away while Shannon airport is 1 hour 30 min trip.
Whatever you're into....... fishing, cycling, hiking, racing, golf, adventure activities, archeology, history, ecology, geology, theatre/music, touring the sights or just want to chill out, this house will make an ideal base for all your exploration.
Accommodation and Amenities
This house is ideal for families or groups of friends. It has 4 bedrooms that can sleep 8 people. All of the rooms have double beds with bed linen and a bath & hand towel provided for each guest. There are two bathrooms one with an electric shower and one is a pumped shower. One bathroom is equipped to cater to those who may have a disability.
The Kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary appliances needed in a modern home. There is an electric hob, electric oven, microwave, large fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, heat pump dryer, kettle, toaster and a coffee pod machine, It is fully equipped with utensils and a range of crockery, saucepans, cutlery and glasses. There is also a dining table with seating for 8 people.
The sitting room contains a wood burning stove perfect for cosy evenings, a smart tv and a generous amount of seating. An oil burner heats the water and radiators. An Iron, Ironing board, clothes airer and laundry basket are also provided. There is also a selection of books and indoor board games available.
A small outbuilding at the rear of the house has a clothes line and space for storing any adventure gear, fishing equipment or bikes you may have. An outdoor wooden bench is also provided for outdoor dining with a charcoal barbecue available for your use along with some outdoor board games.
There is ample parking on site for guests. There is also a limited daily bus service which can be accessed within 1 mins walking distance from the house. Local taxi service available.
A fishing boat and/or gillie can also be arranged through owner (for an additional fee) for those wanting to take in a bit of fishing. Prior booking is essential. You can also book a lake cruise if you'd prefer to enjoy the lake in a more relaxed way.
