Its sandy beach stretches over two miles, and is frequently 'washed' by the tide of the English Channel. It provides safe swimming in the haven of Romney Bay so is a perfect place for families. You will find kite surfers on the sea and kite flying, kite boarding, kite buggies and land yachting and horse-riders on the beach. Greatstone is said to be one of the finest land yachting sites in the UK. Wind-surfing and sailing are also prevalent along the coastline, so if sea, sand or sail sit high on your holiday list, look no further. Greatstone is also a perfect place to have a vacation if you like walking, cycling, birdwatching or just enjoying nature. Greatstone Lakes are located in the Dungeness National Nature Reserve and are located to the west of the village. There are two large lakes nearby offering a beautiful water-based wildlife habitat, covering an area of approximately 25 acres, attracting birds, fauna and flora.
