Along the beach trail, you can enjoy fantastic walking and cycling (there is a shop where you can rent bikes). Why not go for a vigorous walk in Headon Warren or adjacent Tennyson Down? Colwell Bay, with its sandy beach and family-friendly services, is 7 minutes' drive from Sandhard Beach and 15 minutes' walk from Sandhard Beach.
