LOOKING FOR LONG TERM STUDENTSFRIENDLY AND RELAXING HOUSE IN BEAUTIFUL SURROUNDINGS WITH EXCELLENT TRANSPORT OPTIONS.We live in a nice, quiet five bedroom house in an old, friendly and safe area of leafy, suburban Dublin. Our house is called Abhaile. That's HOME in Irish! When you check in you will understand that you are indeed home. Our local amenities include a beautiful hotel, large garden centre with cafe, a newsagents and launderette. Clondalkin village is a short walk from our home and offers a wide range of amenities and activities including, a library, shopping facilities, cafes, a church, restaurants, bars and local historical areas. Corkagh Park, with beautiful greenery and stunning walkways is within walking distance from our home also. A wide range of transport options are close by including bus and tram stations, buses to the airport, Dublin city centre and throughout Ireland.FAMILYMy name is Phyl and I am happily married to Dermot. We have 4 grown up children. Emma, Matthew and Linda have left the nest and our youngest son Rory is still living here with us.WORKDermot owns and runs a very busy, contemporary art gallery in the Stephen’s Green Centre, located at the top of Grafton Street, in Dublin City Centre. This area is very popular with tourists and art collectors and one of the most elite areas of the city. There are lots of great museums and places of interest. Many restaurants, bars, cafes and fantastic shopping areas too.I will be your Homestay Host. I throughly enjoy my job looking after people. In our home, we are always interested in different cultures and eager to have good conversation and help out in any way we can. We love to take on students and we have been doing so for a few years now. We have had many guests from all corners of the earth. We find it very interesting talking with them and learning about their culture and traditions in their country. We are very proud to say our previous guests still keep in contact with our family today. We have made many friends.We love to sing and Dermot plays guitar. We enjoy all genres of music with traditional Irish ballads and country music being our favourite. A sing song is an occasional activity in our living room, with everyone invited of course!ACCOMMODATIONOur rooms are available for students, workers and holiday makers. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate families with children as the environment in the house is more suited towards adults. We have one bedroom presently available in our home. Bedroom 1 is a single room with a double bed which caters for one person. It is very spacious. The bedroom is cozy and clean with plenty of wardrobe and storage space. There is a desk and reading lamp for those who are studying. We have Wi-Fi accessible throughout .Bathroom facilities includes a shower, wash basin and toilet. It is generally exclusive to our guest and is right next door to the bedroom.PAYMENTPlease note when booking the accommodationa % is firstly paid to Homestay. The additional cost should be paid in-part/full in advance of arrival (please contact us to discuss which option you prefer) OR we can accept the full/remaining balance on the day you arrive. We appreciate your cooperation on this matter.COOKINGThe kitchen has all modern conveniences. Feel free to use the kitchen but please clean up after! BREAKFASTA light continental breakfast is included in the room rate as complimentary.Please note that we do not provide meals other than this. LAUNDRY SERVICEWe provide a washing machine for guests to do their own laundry. We provide a washing line in our back garden and clothes-airers for drying clothes. Wi-Fi and TVThere is WiFi throughout the house. It is included in the room rate. There is a television in our living room with satellite channels. Netflix is available for guests to watch movies on your own device.GARDENSWe have a large back garden with a sun patio which our visitors enjoy very much.TRAVELBus stops are at the end of our street and take between 40 and 60 minutes to the City Centre, depending on the time of day. The LUAS is a tram system and the nearest stop, the Red Cow, is 15-20 minutes walk from our house, depending on your walking speed!! The LUAS tram takes about 30 minutes to the City Centre from the RED COW transport hub.There are many buses from there to different parts of the country. Driving to the City takes about 20-30 minutes, again depending on the time of day. We have plenty of off street parking.We live close to a main junction to the M50 Motorway which can bring you anywhere you want to go in Dublin and countrywide.SPORTCorkagh Park is a beautiful large park close by. It is popular for jogging and walking. There are lakes and sports fields there too. Due to recent circumstances involving Covid-19 we ask for all guests coming to stay to be fully vaccinated. Room No. 2 - Room No:1 Single Room; double bed with nice views of gardens to the front of the house - This room is very cosy with lots of storage. It's a single room but the bed is a double. There is a private shower /toilet next door.
